Adding and subtracting dates
A date calculator finds a new date by adding or subtracting a span of time — days, weeks, months or years — from a starting date. It automatically handles the awkward parts: different month lengths, leap years and year rollovers, so you do not have to count on a calendar.
Worked example
Add 90 days to March 1, 2026 and you land on May 30, 2026. Add 3 months instead and you get June 1, 2026. The two differ because "90 days" is a fixed count while "3 months" lands on the same day number in a later month.
Days vs months
Adding months keeps the day of the month where possible, but adjusts when the target month is shorter — January 31 plus one month becomes the last day of February. Adding days simply counts forward or backward, ignoring month boundaries.
