Counting business days
A working days calculator counts only the business days between two dates — normally Monday to Friday — leaving out weekends and, if you choose, public holidays. It answers practical questions like "how many working days until the deadline?"
Worked example
Between Monday March 2 and Friday March 13, 2026 there are 10 working days — two full Monday-to-Friday weeks — even though the calendar span is 12 days, because the two weekends in between are excluded.
Holidays
Public holidays that fall on a weekday reduce the count further. If you subtract recognised holidays as well as weekends, you get net working days, which is what matters for delivery times, notice periods and service-level agreements.
Businesses use working-day counts for shipping estimates, project schedules, payment terms ("net 30 working days") and statutory deadlines, where weekends and holidays should not count against the clock.
