Atal Pension Yojana (APY) Calculator

The Atal Pension Yojana is a government-guaranteed pension scheme aimed at workers in the unorganised sector. You contribute regularly until age 60 and then receive a fixed monthly pension for life.

Guaranteed pension

You choose a pension of ₹1,000, ₹2,000, ₹3,000, ₹4,000 or ₹5,000 a month, payable from age 60. The required contribution depends on your chosen pension and your age when you join — the earlier you start, the lower the contribution.

Who can join

Indian citizens aged 18–40 with a bank or post-office account. Since 1 October 2022, anyone who is or has been an income-tax payer is not eligible to enrol.

After the subscriber

On the subscriber’s death the same pension continues to the spouse, and the accumulated corpus is returned to the nominee thereafter.
